Exporting From SimplyRegister
To export your registrations from SimplyRegister and download them to your computer, follow the instructions below.
- From the main menu for your event, click Download Registrations.
- On the next screen, choose what you want to download (Event Registrations, Add-On Purchases, or Responses to Questions).
- If downloading Event Registrations or Add-On Purchases, choose which Event(s) or Add-On(s) you want to download.
- Choose the format for your download:
- Tab-Delimited - for importing into any program that accepts text files (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Hy-Tek - for importing into Hy-Tek Meet Manager (this option is available only when downloading Event Registrations)
- MeetPro - for importing into MeetPro (this option is available only when downloading Event Registrations)
- RunScore - for importing into RunScore (this option is available only when downloading Event Registrations)
- Click the Next button.
- On the next screen, set the options for your export based on what you want to appear in your downloaded file.
- Click the Next button to download your file.
- At the prompt, choose Save File, and pick a location on your computer to save the file.
Importing into Excel
To import your registrations into Excel, follow the instructions below.
- Download your registrations in the Tab-Delimited format from the online registration system.
- In Excel, go to the File menu and choose Open.
- Choose "Text files (*.txt)" from the Files Of Type drop-down menu at the bottom of the window that pops up.
- Locate the file you downloaded from the online registration system, select it, and click Open.
- In the Text Import Wizard window that pops up, choose Delimited as the Data Type option, and click Next.
- On the next screen, check the box next to Tab for the Delimiter, choose {none} in the Text Qualifier drop-down menu, and click Next.
- On the next screen, set the format for each column by clicking on a column and then selecting one of the Column Data Format options. NOTE: The Postal Code column will need to be set to Text; otherwise Excel will drop leading zeros (for example, the New Hampshire postal code 03755 would be truncated to 3755).
- Click Finish to complete the import process.
Importing into Hy-Tek Meet Manager
To import your registrations into Hy-Tek Meet Manager, follow the instructions below. These instructions assume you have already set up your Hy-Tek database and have it open.
- Download your registrations in the Hy-Tek format from the online registration system.
- In Hy-Tek, go to the File menu and choose Import → Semi-Colon Delimited Rosters → Entries File.
- Locate the file you downloaded from the online registration system, select it, and click Open.
- Review the Exception Report (Reports Menu → Exceptions) for any problems Hy-Tek encountered while importing the file.
Importing into MeetPro
To import your registrations into MeetPro, follow the instructions below. These instructions assume you have already set up your MeetPro database and have it open.
- Download your registrations in the MeetPro format from the online registration system.
- In MeetPro, go to the File menu and choose Import → Hy-Tek Semi-Colon Delimited File.
- Locate the file you downloaded from the online registration system, select it, and click OK.
Importing into RunScore
To import your registrations into RunScore, follow the instructions below. These instructions assume you have already set up your RunScore database and have it open.
- Download your registrations in the RunScore format from the online registration system.
- In RunScore, go to the File menu and choose Import.
- Choose "Text files (*.txt)" from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window that pops up.
- Locate the file you downloaded from the online registration system, select it, and click Open.
- A window will pop up and say "Not a comma-delimited file" (that's okay); type "tab" (without the quotes) in the box and click OK.
- Depending on how your race is set up in RunScore, another window might pop up and say that "No matching field was found" for certain fields that are contained in the file you're importing but that don't have a matching field in your RunScore database. If the field it's referencing isn't part of your RunScore race configuration, click Ignore; otherwise select the RunScore field to which the field in question should be matched and click OK.
